Directions to reach Driftwood
From the South
Follow the A1 North from Newcastle. The A1 by-passes Morpeth then Alnwick. Continue North of Alnwick on the A1 until, after 11 miles, (45 miles from Newcastle), you will see a sign for Adderstone Services and Purdy Lodge.
Turn right at the services onto the B 1341 signposted for Bamburgh. (Beware that there are 2 sharp turns on this road just before Lucker, a right then a left. Do not go straight ahead into Lucker at the 2nd turn but turn left towards the railway crossing just outside Lucker.) 5 miles from the A1 you will reach Bamburgh village. Continue down through the village heading for the castle. Follow the road as it turns right in front of the castle. Half a mile beyond the castle turn right after the phone box into Armstrong Cottages. Turn left immediately and then follow the road round to the right. Driftwood is the second house on your right.
From the North
Follow the A1 South from Berwick upon Tweed. 17 miles South of Berwick (just South of Belford which is by-passed) turn left at Adderstone Services and Purdy Lodge onto the B 1341 signposted for Bamburgh. Follow the directions above.
